The Salvation Army's newest Corps Commanders of Bushwick, Lieutenants Kevin and Christa Bryan, introduced themselves to the community in style on Friday, August 17, with a carnival in the gym for the day campers followed by a block party at 1155 Bushwick Avenue.

Providing the community with free food, games, music and performances, the new commanders made their presence known. “We want to get everyone involved,” said Christa Bryan, “and bring the Bushwick community together.”

The 150 campers and residents of Bushwick were treated to sno-kones and popcorn as they watched a step-team and a praise-and-worship band made up of community members, summer youth workers and even new commander Kevin Bryan.
