The Greenpoint YMCA held it's Mid-Year Spirit Day last Friday evening, welcoming a larger-than-expected crowd of parents to the Y's gym for a series of performances by children enrolled in the YMCA's many programs.

The event raise money and awareness about the Strong Kids Campaign, a yearly effort to raise funds to provide access to YMCA programs for kids and families who otherwise might not have access to the YMCA because of an inability to pay.

In Greenpoint and Williamsburg alone, more then 4,000 kids take advantage of free and low-cost programs at the Greenpoint YMCA because of the Strong Kids Campaign.

The Greenpoint YMCA is located at 99 Meserole Avenue.
