It's been a long time coming, but a fully renovated McCarren Pool will finally be opening to the public later this month.

And area residents can take advantage of one of three events and become a member of the McCarren Play Center, which officially opens on June 28.

The Play Center will feature cardio and strength training rooms, an indoor gymnasium, and adult, senior and youth fitness programs. It will also host arts and culture events, family activities, and after-school and teen programs.

The cost to join is $150 per year for adult (ages 18-61), $25 per year for seniors (62 and over), and free for kids under 17.

You can sign up early on Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Maria Hernandez Park, Starr Street and Knickerbocker Avenue; on Friday, June 15, from 3 to 7 p.m., at McCarren Park, Lorimer and Bayard streets; or on Sunday, June 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McGolrick Park, Nassau Avenue and Russell Street.

You can also join by visiting Nycgovparks.org.
