Last month, the Greenpoint Monitor Museum held its Annual Road Show Award Ceremony for the first time at its new home at MS 126 on Leonad Street.

The annual event honors local students who entered projects reflecting what they learned from the museum’s “Road Show” program.

Through the program, museum instructors travel to local schools and educate students about the history of the Monitor, a Civil War-era iron-hulled steamship that was built in Greenpoint.

This year’s ceremony honored students from PS31, PS110 and St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy.

Funding for the program is provided by Assemblyman Joseph Lentol and Councilman Stephen Levin through the state and city departments of Education.
