Outreach Greenpoint has a new director

Outreach has named a new program director for its Greenpoint site.

Janet Walpole will lead the community facility serving communities and families in north Brooklyn struggling with substance abuse and other behavioral health issues.

Outreach, with sites in Queens, opened its Brooklyn location in 2002.

“Janet is a terrific addition to the management staff at Outreach Greenpoint,” said Neil Sheehan, executive vice president of Outreach. “She is a dedicated non-profit executive who understands the Greenpoint dynamic and will work with the community to provide person-centered, evidence-based programming.”

Walpole will oversee adult and children’s outpatient services, which are offered in English, Spanish and Polish. She will also be in charge of Greenpoint’s ReStart Academy, an educational program for young people transitioning back into the public school system after undergoing a residential or community substance abuse program.
